Manchester’s Claro Intelecto (Mark Stewart) serves up another delicious slab of deep, dubby techno in time to celebrate his recent and well-received set at Sonar. If you saw him in Barcelona or if you’ve heard the other volumes in this series, you will know what to expect: post-Maurizio beatscapes constructed around a heavy bass with enough cracks and fissures in the structure to let plenty of dark, chemical light in. Enough at least to allow subtle metal melodies and industrial flowers to bloom. The essence of Stewart’s sound has always been a compulsive slowness, a kind of concussive effect, and the B-side ‘Post’ is the better example of this – it’s a marvellous late night heart monitor with echoing and chasmic dub drifts mounting like sand dunes before blowing away without a trace.

LEMOS - CECILLE NUMBERS PART 02 (2008)

Lemos was my biggest surprise so far this year. His music is genuine and passioned and his sense of style is incredibly suitable to the new trends. So... the Greek producer got back with this release divided in two Eps ("Part One" and "Part Two") to celebrate the birth of a new label: Cecille Numbers. The a side of both was worked together with Ilan Manovach and they managed to create two true funky love tracks glanced by a great saxophone's (recorded live) coming along with a brilliant deep beat in two exquisite tracks. If you think that the A side of both are good wait untill you listen the B! "What Do You Believe?" is being played by names like Villalobos, Magda, Loco Dice, Karotte among others and has created great moments in the clubs. It goes through acid flavors, and the voices are not bad. Finally lets talk about "My Lady"... this has all the ingredients needed to a great music... nice construction, perfect beat, clean breaks and a strong rhythm. It's my favorite of the 4! Lemos equals Future, a stunning release, hope you enjoy.

Pan-Pot marks a milestone for Anja Schneider's Mobilee label as it is the first artist album on the imprint. It's fitting that Pan-Pot have been chosen to launch this particular rocket as they've probably contributed more essential moments to Mobilee than any other artist thus far. There's nothing remotely compromising about this record though, which is refreshing. Pan-Pot, a.k.a Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix, have been given carte blanche to do things entirely their own way, which makes for uncomfortable but ultimately compelling listening.

Born in Naples on February 7, 1975, Marco Carola has emerged in the last four years as one of the city's most influential exponents of Techno and electronic music.

Growing up in the Neapolitan sunshine, by the age of 13 he got behind the skins of his first drum kit which he played for several years before ultimately being addicted to buying and playing records. In 1990, when the Italian House scene was enjoying its golden age alongside the madness of Acid House, Carola`s drum kit was rapidly replaced by a two record player set and a mixer whereupon he practised the art of mixing and learned how to dj to House music's new dancefloor rhythm.

Dice began his career as a hip-hop DJ, but in 2002 hooked up with producer Martin Buttrich and warmed up to dance music in a major way, leading to releases on high-profile labels like Minus, Cadenza and Cocoon. For his first full-length, Dice relocated from his Düsseldorf home to New York City and rented out a studio space with Buttrich, taking inspiration from the new surroundings.

ANDREW GRANT - BLUE VISTA (2008)

Hailing from the Washington DC area, Andrew Grant's DJ history dates back to 1988 when he was spinning hip-hop at house parties and school dances. But, his musical tastes turned to electronica after his first trip to NYC’s Twilo in the mid 90s. Andrew first visit to Europe was in 2000 playing in Dublin on New Years Eve and then in Paris. He stayed in Europe and in 2001, purchased a one-way ticket from England to the White Isle.

He came to Ibiza with a passion to play top venues. Soon after he was invited to play Thursday morning afterhours @ DC10. After just two sets he was invited to play a main 3-5 hour slot at Circoloco after Cirillo, his mentor. Combined with his aggressive mixing and ability to layer sounds, he keeps his sound perpetually fresh, deep and driving. His sets are packed with sinister beats, lonely echoes from the use of his third deck, and perfect bridges between tracks. And when needed he has an uncanny ability to layer bass for extra punch.

Made In The Dark is Hot Chip’s third full length release and the follow up to their critically acclaimed album The Warning. This new installment shows Hot Chip at its best; wonderfully quirky, clever, soulful and poppy. The bands sound has evolved towards a wilder, heavier electronics, though still coupled with a signature pop aesthetic. The stand out tracks “Shake A Fist”, “Ready For The Floor” and “One Pure Thought” add pure, unadulterated head rush pop into the mix. Michael Baumann's experimental/jazz project Soulphiction releases a second album Do You Overstand? this week.

Soulphiction is the more electric side of Michael Baumann, who also makes deep house solo as Jackmate and in the group Manmade Science. As Soulphiction, Baumann’s records have arrived on labels such as Perlon, Philpot, Freude Am Tanzen and now Sonar Kollektiv, and span a range of influences including jazz, world music and soul.

Do You Overstand? is Baumann's second album for SK as Soulphiction, following up State of Euphoria in 2006. Expect a range of mood from ethic vibes (GhanaWadada) to bass grooves (Prison Song) to hip-hop (I Just Wait).
