Miss Fitz has sampled a huge chunk of a Nina Simone song, but listen to it again and it’s clear that the soulful tones belong to the author. Set to a sombre beat and a more upbeat dubby rhythm track on the edit, it’s a better example of the creative art of vocal sampling than ‘Enfants’.

Includes a self-remix in addition to the in-demand original 14-minute version. Miss Fitz, who is indeed unmarried, although not of anglo-norman heritage as her surname might suggest, has made quite an impressive mark in the world of minimal techno since appearing on the scene in 2006. After several eps and tracks for a number of respected labels, Berlin-based Miss Fitz joins the contexterrior crew for the release of “Drifting On”.
