LUOMO - "What's Good" EP
Genre: House
Download here.

Mr Vladislav returns in his softer guise Luomo for a house moment on Resopal, featuring remixes by Ian Pooley, Adjuster and Cane (not the Funckarma side-project). The track itself is a rank feel good silky number, with pretty standard female vocals over the top, the varying versions aren’t too dissimilar, Ian Pooley’s is the most accessible, deep funky house, other than Luomo’s ‘radio edit’,Cane drops a teched up mix with more depth and electronics than the others, and Adjuster cranks the compression up for a real club roller. Not the best source material from Luomo, but possibly worth it for Cane and Adjuster’s versions.

2am: : .

"La Salita is the sequel of "La Trova", emblematic of beginning of the decade. The same underground, the same wave electro-cool Forest Park of Santiago, the same desires of closing very late the night with sets alive at the expense of an awake disc jockey. I'm not very sure, but I believe that only they changed a bit the red tones of the set, the young girls & boys and some details of the menu. Unscathed Minimalism".

LUCIANO - "Blind Behaviour"
Genre: Minimal
Download here

Luciano Nicolet aka Lucien-N-Luciano has DJ'ed from the tender age of 15 and has been producing music since 1997. In the mid-90's, he began promoting club nights in Santiago de Chile in the company of many initiators of the Latin American electronic music scene: Señor Coconut aka Atom Heart, Ricardo Villalobos, Dandy Jack and brother Adrian Schopf. Lucien, having played radio stations and DJ'd at clubs and events across Latin America, Germany, Spain, and Holland; finally settled in Switzerland in 2000 to release on Mental Groove Records in Geneva, where he also holds a residency at the Weetamix club.
Lucien's mixed Swiss and Chilean identity is evident in his music, which portrays a mystical blend of deep techno and electro that integrates strong southern elements in its rhythms. As of late, Lucien has been quietly building a name for himself with those in the know, with a string of sought after releases on some of the world's most cutting edge labels, such as Transmat, Perlon, Lo-Fi Stereo, Bruchstuecke and Klang Elektronik.
2004 is set to be a busy year for Lucien-N-Luciano with his forthcoming album "Blind Behavour" on Peacefrog, preceded by the "Alain Brito" 12". Lucien will also be gracing the more discerning dancefloors across Europe and South America bringing his own breed of fresh minimal techno to those who need it most.

Luke Santos: : .

Luke Santos (Argentina) was the Dj that four years ago did news for an accident in Pucón (Chile), which almost costs the life to him. To change, he remained paralyzed from the shoulders downwards. His ingenuity and his 15 years like Dj led it to looking for a way of continuing puncturing discs: " I can do with the hands clic, which could not was to drag things in the computer. I asked then a technician to make a device to drag from the head ". This way it is like 9 months ago, he returned to touch. And in Love Parade it was one of the exciting points, especially behind the scene where his colleagues were: "I Cried during the whole set that I put".

RICARDO VILLALOBOS - Alcachofa
Genre: Minimal
Download here.

Ricardo Villalobos is a Chilean electronic music producer and DJ. He is well-known for his work in the minimal techno and microhouse genres. Villalobos was born in the capital of Chile, Santiago, in the year 1970. However, at the age of three he moved to Germany with his family after General Augusto Pinochet overthrew the socialist government of Salvador Allende in 1973. When Ricardo was around 10 or 11 he started to play conga and bongos. Though he loved music, he could never see himself as a musician. In the late eighties he began to make electronic music. From a very young age he has been a a big fan of Depeche Mode, even following their tours around Europe to listen to them.
Villalobos takes much of his inspiration from Depeche Mode, as well as other artists such as Daniel Miller, Thomas Melchior, Baby Ford, Daniel Bell and Andrew Weatherall. He has also taken inspiration from rhythmic South American music.
Villalobos began to play his music at parties while he was studying at university, but this was only for his own enjoyment. He started a label, Placid Flavour, in 1993 but this was unsuccessful. His first record was released on the German Playhouse label in 1994 and he began DJing as a professional in 1998, and is in present times regarded as one of the most important minimal DJs in Europe, alongside other talented chilean djs and producers such as Luciano Nicolet (an occasional collaborator) and Dandy Jack.

TERRY LEE BROWN JR.
Download:
"I Love Deep Plastic City"
Genre: House

One in a growing legion of German producers influenced by the sound of Chicago, Terry Lee Brown, Jr. is the working pseudonym of Norman Feller, who produces from his base in a small town south of Frankfurt. Though many Teutons have made their careers on the sound of Detroit-influenced trance, Feller's music reveals no glimpse of its origins. His first productions appeared as Storming Norman on Influence Records, after which he connected with Tom Wax of Phuture Wax Records; recording for Phuture Wax as Watchman, he cut two of the biggest hard house tracks of 1996, "Watchman's Theme" and "Cut the Midrange." He had already debuted his guise Terry Lee Brown, Jr. (selected because it simply sounded like the name of an American house producer) on Plastic City, and recorded as Twisted Minds, Lectric Cargo and Wax Scientists as well. His debut Terry Lee Brown, Jr. album, 1996's Brother for Real, was followed by Chocolate Chords one year later. Plastic City also released Selected Remixes in late 1998; followed two years later with an album of remixes.

Enjoy...
